Canada's War Veterans
I see the old guys now and then; on TV - attending a Remembrance Day event, at the 60th anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy and sometimes they'll come into my office to purchase insurance. They are all old now. The WW II Veterans are mostly all in their 80's now - but heads still held high. Some with a far away look in their eye. They remind me of my Father, who was a WW II Veteran and passed away in 2000.
I get quite emotional seeing the old Veterans and often shed a tear or two. Perhaps I'm remembering my Father too. We owe them all so very, very much. I, and now my Children, get to live safe and free in the best Country in the World because of the sacrifices that those Men and Women made.
A lot of Canadian Soldiers died in WW II - they gave up all they had, and all they were ever going to have; for Canada, for you and me. We cannot repay them, so we must honor them.
Praise them with great praise.
